What we have given are estimates and the actual cutoffs could be lower than these. The googly this year is the academic profile score which has no precedent in SNAP and could reduce/increase the cutoff.

Harsh, SCIT and SICSR are decent institutes and should be considered positively.
BIMTECH is a good institute but go for a general MBA and not for a sectoral program since at times placement in secoral program is an issue.

Deepti, please check your score 94%ile should be less than 100 marks, but assuming 104 marks you should get SCMHRD and SIIB calls. SIBM Pune could be a borderline case.

Arunav, last year the SIBM Pune cut off for ST category was 38 and this year it could be around 42-45 hence you should be able to get calls from all the Symbiosis institutes.

Prateek, SITM & SCIT offer MBA Systems for which you do not need to be an CS or Electronics graduate. You have as good chance as any for these institutes. SSBM is Banking Management and SIMC is Mass Communication.
Please understand Mechanical Engineering has go nothing to do with MBA and will not impact your prospects negatively. All graduations subjects have very little connection with MBA so everyone who goes into MBA is from a different sector. You need to decide first which area interests you and only after that should you decide on the institute.

Raju, SIOM is ruled out, in SICSR and SCIT you may have an outside chance but given your profile it may not be worthwhile joining these institutes. Do go thru their website to understand the program and their placement records and then take a call keeping your current growth prospects in mind.

SIMS is only for dependents of defence personnel.
I had said at “86/180 SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are out and you have an outside chance in SIIB & SIBM Bangalore”.
Thus calls from SIBM Pune and SCMHRD are not possible.
SIIB and SIBM Bangalore curt off is estimated at 85-87 so you will get or miss a call by a couple of marks.

Rachit, In SIBM you have an outside chance but you should get a call from SCMHRD. Start preparing for personality assessment.

Sonal, SICSR is a good back up option for freshers and its cut off should be around 70-75.

Nikhil, since there are no sectional cutoffs in SIBM and usually others follow the SIBM trend, you should get a call from SCMHRD and SIIB. SIOM is a bck up option at best.

Neeraj, I would hesitate recommending SIOM or SCIT to someone with 4 years work experience. You can however apply and keep them as a back up option.

Krishan, a call is certain if you apply to SIMS because of defence quota. From SIBM-P & SCMHRD are ruled out and you have an outside chance from SIIB and SIBM-B. All other Symbiosis institutes are likely to give you a call.

Almost all the Symbiosis institutes have decent placement but the quality of placement is better in the top ones and the sectoral institutes & programs have less opportunities.

Bejoy, unfortunately it cannot be rectified now. The date for both these institutes is over. Forget SNAP, please focus on XAT and CMAT and on the Personality Assessment process of SIIB.

Kunal, to shortlist students for he interview all SNAP institutes consider only the SNAP score so SIBM is out for you but SCMHRD is on so start preparing for its personality assessment stage.

On forums like Pagalguy, there are many people (almost @600 as of now) who say they expect a score of above 100. So don’t you think the cutoffs for SIBM-P may go as high as 110 this time?
Venkat, at 111/173 you will get calls from both SIBM Pune and SCMHRD. I don’t expect the cut off for SIBM Pune to be 110, the max it can go to is 105.
SNAP 2011 and 2012 are almost the same when it comes to QADI, Verbal and GK but the CR section this year is easier than last year because the 8 CR question of reasoning have been replaced with AR questions. However the reasoning section this year had at least 6 very difficult reasoning questions and attempting more than 24-25 questions was difficult, the corresponding number last year was 21. Then we also have FIJ which are always subjective.
Thus overall I feel that the SIBM Pune cut off should be around 8 marks higher than last year.
If over 600 have reported a score of greater than 110 then the cut off could go up to 105, however two facts stop me from taking the scores at face value:
1. We have recreated the paper from memory and we could be incorrect in a couple of questions.
2. It is difficult for anyone to remember all the answers that one has marked for the questions in the paper so the score is only an estimate, but a reasonably good one.
hence let let us wait till 10th Jan for a final word on this issue.

Ramneek, this is the most difficult one to estimate since it has very few seats but at 75-80 you are unlikely to get a call from SIBM Pune and SCMHRD. The others should be thru.

Abhinav, 66.6% in Engineering will not be a problem, you have a good chance of converting SCMHRD, SIBM-B calls because SNAP score has only 40% weight in the final score and your work ex will be helpful in the remaining 60%.

Raghu, if you are able to cross 90 due to circular arrangement and the remaining questions you will get a call from SCMHRD. You have a very good chance of calls from SIIB and SIBM-B because you are likely to get at least 2-3 marks from the remaining questions.

Karthik, SCMHRD is on but SIBM-P is only an outside chance. Both these institutes are at par and do not hesitate in joining SCMHRD if you make it to the final list.

Vivek, SIBM Pune is out but you should get a cal from all the others.
Percentile scores are derived from the raw scores only so will not have an impact.
It is advisable to wait till the declaration of results for SIOM.

Pawan, while I think that the SIBM Pune cutoff will be around 100 and it an go up by a few marks I do not think that it will be above 105. Hopefully you will get another 3-4 marks on account of the questions that we have not been able to recreate and be able reach 105. SCMHRD is in any case on and it is an equally good institute with an intake of 240. SIBM has a higher cutoff because its intake is 180.

First off, I must appreciate the hard work that CL puts into doing anything. When all the other institutes(I am a non-CL student) are cribbing about how mean SIU didnt release the question paper, what you and CL have done is truly great work! Thank you. My scores are VA – 34.5 GK- 25.25 LR – 37 QA – 7 Total – 103.75 I was counting on SNAP as there are no sectional cutoffs. But in an earlier post you mentioned a low score in any section may be a problem. Do I stand a chance? I have applied for SIBM-P, SCMHRD and SIIB.

Coming to your specific query, at 103.5/173 you should get a call from SCMHRD and also from SIIB but SIBM Pune could be a borderline case. Even a couple of marks in the remaining 7 marks will make it a sfe score.
SIBM does not have sectional cutoffs but anyone with a zero or a negative score in a section is normally not considered and since that is not the case with you so you are safe.

Rahul, check out SIBM-Blr, it is a good institute and hopefully you will get a call from there. You could also consider SCIT if you want to do MBA Systems or SIOM for MBA Operations. SSBM could be a decent backup option.

Vaishnavi, at 86 you have an outside chance in SIIB International business and SIBM-B but almost sure of a call from Energy program. SIMC is also possible.

1. i have applied for SIBM-Pune and SCMHRD, Do they consider the SNAP written score for final selection (along with the GD ,PI SCORE)?
2. What percentile can i expect at this score?
3.is SIBM ,Pune on at this score ?

Moumita, you are significantly below the required score to get a call from SIBM or SCMHRD. Suggest you focus on XAT and CMAT.

Nishant, last year the SIBM-P cutoff for SC category was around 56 and this year I do not expect it to be around 60 so you should start preparing for the Personality Assessment stage of SIBM-P and SCMHRD.

Abhishek, 105 for SIBM-P seems unlikely and I think it should be around 100 only. However once I go thru the data submitted by the students in a couple of days I will be able to give a better answer.
Hopefully you will get another 3-4 marks for the 8 mark questions that we do not have with us.

Sheena, you have an outside chance of calls from SIBM-B and SIIB. The ones below are essentially SCIT offers an MBA with Systems specialisation, SIOM Nasik with Operations specialisation and SITM in Telecom Management. Apply for these institutes only if you are interested in these specialisations. If you are a dependent of Defence personnel then apply to SIMS also.

Parakh, you should get calls from SCMHRD and SIBM-B and have a very good chance of call from SIBM-P also. You can apply to SIIB also for International Business.

Aravind, you should get calls from both SIBM-P and SCMHRD and because of your profile converting the call should not be a problem. Suggest that you start preparing for the personality assessment stage.

Rohan, there are 6 questions worth 8 marks that we have not been able to trace, so you total score could be in the region of 103-104 which I think is sufficient for a call.

Sir, i am getting 115.5 excluding the questions which were not there. Sir, this is my only hope as of now, can u please assure me that cut off for SIBM would definitely remain lesser than 105. I know its quite subjective, but as far as i know ur predictions are most objective.

Kundan, SIMS should be on since it is primarily for dependents of defence personnel only. There is an outside chance of a call from SITM and SCIT also.

Kshitij, not much to choose between the two institutes, it depends upon which specialisation you want to go for.
SCIT will give you an MBA in Systems while from SIOM it will be MBA Operations.

Kshitij, the score is out of 172 marks and not 180. You could add your estimated marks for these 6 questions to get a score out of 180.
