Writing SNAP 2014 was a good distraction for the tens of thousands of students waiting for CAT results, wasn’t it?
The overall difficulty level of the paper was significantly above the difficulty level of SNAP papers in the last two-three years as the difficulty level of at least three sections (QA, VA and Reasoning) was above that of these sections in the recent years.
Most of the well-prepared students would have allotted 40 minutes to Verbal Ability and General Knowledge together giving about 25-30 minutes to VA and 10-15 minutes to GK. Of the remaining 80 minutes Reasoning would have taken 40-45 minutes (as all the 30 questions are 2-markers here) and and the balance 35-40 minutes would have gone to Quantitative Aptitude.

Jatin, with 90%ile in CMAT you should apply to GIM and KJ Somaiyya.
Apply to MICA based on your MAT score.
Go for a retake of MAT in Feb’15 also since Mumbai University colleges through CET are possible through MAT also but they consider only Feb MAT. Try to increase your MAT score to over 99.9%ile to have a chance in Sydenham.

I don’t think that the Pie Chart question should be cancelled as it can be solved with 420 degrees. The percentages etc can be calculated, for example sector of 30 degree would represent 30/420 = 1/14 = 7.14% of the total.

1. Even after clearing overall cut off and scoring 40 in IIFT i didn’t get a call because of 0.34 difference in general awareness section. Recently, there has been a rumor about second waiting list, is that true?
2. Compared to all other sections, my performance goes very low in g.k section. With XAT and TISS remaining and constrained time, what sources will you recommend for this particular section?
3. Is there any sectional cut- off in TISS? i tried looking at their site for an answer but due to change in pattern, nothing has been mentioned regarding sectional cut off.

Shubhangi, IIFT is unfortunate but nothing can be done in this regard and there will not be a 2nd list. With this kind of performance in IIFT (40 marks) you should do well in XAT also, in the GK section of XAT mark answers to only those questions that your are confident of. focus on the GK compendiums (of SNAP, IIFT and XAT) in your SIS and also download the GK app.
There is no sectional cutoff in TISS, the consolidated score is considered for interview short listing.

Sir I particularly remember a question in VA section which was wrong. Firther there were wrong questions in quants too. GK was also difficult. Still do u expect the cutoff to go that high?

SIBM will consider Profile also for calling. Beyond that awards etc will add to your profile in Stage II.

Karan, acads score is not being considered this year. With 90 marks tou have a chance of a call from SCMHRD MBA program.

Sir, there was one piechart DI section in which the degrees where adding upto 420. So I feel the question was erroneous. What would be done to those questions? Will they make the questions invalid or provide marks for those who had attempted the questions?

Aritra, yes the SIIB IB cut off should be around 75 marks but based on the data submitted in the SNAP Score Calculator we will come out with more accurate cutoffs.

Sir I am a student from Kolkata and I wrote my exam from one of the centers from Kolkata itself the centers name being Guru Nanak Institute of Technology,Kolkata. Sir yesterday when the 800 of us who were allotted the same center sat down to write our Snap Exam we realised that we would have to give one of the most important exam of our career with more than 100 decibels of loudspeakers being played at a park just adjacent to our center .Throughout the 2 hrs duration of the exam not a single child was such who did not raise the issue of the loudspeakers disturbing our concentration levels.We pleaded the invigilators,the authorities but all in vain since till the last second of the exam duration ABSOLUTELY nothing was done about it.Sir we candidates at the center were not able to give even our 50% in the exam due to this disturbance.Could u pls guide us how can we be helped since this was not even our mistake and still we would be the ones who would be suffering.Sir pls guide since I want to raise this issue not only for myself but for the benefit of all those 800 candidates who were subjected to the same torture yesterday at the time of one of the most important exams of our career.Sir pls guide us.

Sir i wrote snap yesterday and my lr section is very good and i attempted 29 question, but i am sure about one AR question whose answer was not there in the option. as the name of two person in the question were starting with “s”.
and one filling the blank in english was not right according to me
though i m not a scholar in english, but stil i found that question wrong. I m sending u that question on whatsup.
so what do u think all the student will got the marks for these questions. and i think this is the reason that snap admin stop giving back the question paper, bcoz they had a lots of mistake every year.

The total of the different components was adding to 420 instead if 360 as it was in degrees..
So wat happens to these wrong questions now..?
Also most of the quant quest had None of the above as the 4th optn..
Some log questns were also not correct..
