Dear All,

Acharya Institute of Management and Sciences (AIMS) is a business school in Bangalore offering PGDM (60seats) & MBA (240seats) programmes. Both the programs are of 2 years duration. MBA with dual specialization is affiliated to Bangalore University. The PGDM is offered by AIMA & approved by AICTE.

The all-inclusive fee structure for the 2 year MBA program is Rs. 8,60,000 (this includes tuition fee & i-pad). Similarly the 2 year all inclusive PGDM fee is Rs. 5,50,000  (this includes tuition fee & i-pad). For both programmes, Hostel is optional at Rs 66,000/annum which includes boarding and lodging.

Placements
AIMS provided CL with placement data of 76 students (MBA & PGDM students passing out in 2013). This data met the CL audit standards. MBA placements score higher than PGDM placements on all parameters namely CTC, profile and companies. I am listing down here the key offtakes from the placement data:

MBA

  • 40% of students were offered CTC’s in the range of 4 to 6.6 Lacs.
  • Some of the key MBA recruiters were Federal Bank, Colgate Palmolive, ICICI Bank, Citi Bank, Reitzel Group, Cryobanks International, Bose India, Google, Oracle , Indus Ind Bank, Dish TV, Johnson & Johnson etc.

PGDM

  • 46% of students were placed with CTC’s in the range of 3 to 5 lacs.
  •  The placement profiles of PGDM students include Asst Manager, Junior Officer, Management Trainee, Acquisition Manager, Content Developer, Officer etc

Selection Process
AIMS accepts CAT 2013 / XAT 2014 / CMAT /MAT /ATMA/ GMAT scores for admissions to its MBA & PGDM programs. The college looks at profile based applications measuring them on past academic record and work experience. Shortlisted students are invited for the second stage of selection process comprising of the following 4 rounds:

  • Statement of Purpose
  • Group Discussion
  • Extempore
  • Personal interview
